Student Health Insurance
NIU offers its students a health insurance plan that protects students at school, at home, and while traveling or studying abroad. Enrollment in the plan is automatic for students registered for 9 or more on campus hours and for all international students. Students, who register for at least 6 hours on or off campus, may enroll in the plan. Students, working on their thesis or doctorate, may enroll in the plan with 1 credit hour.

Please note that if you enroll in 9 or more on campus hours and do not choose one of the two options above, you will be automatically billed for, and receive the NIU Student Health Insurance.
